DR-Architects - Dittert & Reumschüssel D&R was founded by Thomas Dittert and Christine Reumschüssel in 1994 with two offices in Hamburg and Hannover. Their main focus lies in architecture and urban design, with special emphasis on sustainable building. They have a team of highly experienced architects and designers as well as several professional collaboration partners.During the long years of their professional work, D&R evolved a unique and mature style and gathered concrete experience in many fields. Especially in the area of highly energy efficient construction of new buildings and the modernisation of very old protected buildings the office is one of the most advanced in Germany concerning design as well as execution. They developed the Hamburg energy certificate early. This certificate has been in the application already for 10 years for more than 5,000 buildings.The design philosophy states that you have to take over responsibility in order to achieve good buildings. Our guiding principles are the needs of the developers and of the later users, the protection of the environment as well as the economical feasibility. This together with the integration of buildings in the surrounding urban structure is where we see the importance of responsibility architects have to take over. From 2004 D&R was invited to participate in the preparation and implementation of ecobuild shanghai 2006. Until now we already completed several designs for ecological office and residential buildings, on or own or with partners from China and Europe. The Pujiang Intelligence Valley ecological office building was finished in September 2006 and was awarded the German Energy Certificate by dena (German Energy Agency) to highlight its outstanding achievement as an energy saving building.
